Article 1: King King Club, Hollywood CA (3/2/2011)

Throughout the back streets and alleys of infamous Hollywood Boulevard, there is a plethora of nightlife options for the average party-goer. Although, this quintessential european-style underground club goes widely overlooked. This could be due to its sketchy backdoor entrance or the narrow, dim lit soundproof hallway that leads you to the main stage. Perhaps more importantly the shady characters that hang out there... or is this such a bad thing?

King King brings a European style dance club to the streets of Hollywood. No Glitz, No Glam. People who come here are seemingly enormous music advocates and attend for the love of the music rather than your average weekend warrior stumbling drunk from one watering hole to another, dancing because he THINKS its fun. Yeah I might sound hypocritical but who cares, isn't that what a blog is supposed to be-- drunken ramblings? Regardless, King King seems to either not care about promoting themselves or hopefully are just adhering to the "less is more" philosophy. Either way, it works. Check out the website, find a DJ you enjoy that is playing there soon (Kate Simko was excellent) and get your ass of the couch. Kings of dirty house music in LA.
